Clients/Projects: LAX, The Los Angeles Exhibition

Campbell Communications directed publicity for LAX: The Los Angeles Exhibition, LA’s first city-wide exhibition celebrating the strength and diversity of artists living and working in the Los Angeles metropolitan area; and LA Xtension, a capsule installation at ART/LA at the downtown Convention Center. Initiated by the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery under project director Edward Leffingwell, LAX presented exhibitions and outreach programs by eight local cultural institutions; USC Fisher Gallery; the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center; Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE); the City’s Municipal Art Gallery; Plaza de la Raza; Otis/Parsons School of Art and Design; Santa Monica Museum of Art and Wight Gallery, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). LA Xtension presented works by nearly 60 participating artists. The multi-institutional project that was launched as part of the 1992 International LA International Contemporary Art Fair, ART/LA was made possible through a generous gift from BMW of North America, Inc. Artists by order of appearance in the scroll: Carole Caroompas, John Valadez and Karen Carson.
